Sumario:This essay reflects upon the role of the State on the usage of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), better known as drones, and the preponderant aspect of the Martens Clause in the face of the lack of specific regulations on their use. Likewise, the investigation glosses over the evolution of the aforementioned clause, and its jurisprudence on the crossover with the Geneva Agreements on drones. This way I aim to analyze said clauses, the necessity of a strict codification, and State compliance, so these vehicles can be handled according to the Geneva Convention agreements and International Human Rights laws.
