| Sumario: | This paper examines the figure of sexual slavery in the López Soto et al. v. Venezuela case of the Interamerican Court of Human Rights. To this end, a brief introduction is given, certain interamerican standards on violence against women are presented, and sexual slavery is analyzed as an analogous form of slavery. Finally, the particularities of the López Soto case are discussed and evaluated in order to assess the importance of this precedent for international human rights law. |
