| Sumario: | The imposition of disciplinary sanctions or measures and the supervision of their execution are the responsibility of competent authorities who act in all circumstances in accordance with the Constitution. The State's parties have to take positive measures to ensure that people or entities do not inflict torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment as punishment on others under their supervision. Torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, the absence of due process and the rule of law exist of a large number of prisons and the extensive use of force. Solitary confinement is used regularly in jail, but its overuse breaks international treaties. |
