| Sumario: | Twenty years have passed since the international law of human rights initiated the path towards the definition of standards for the protection of women from all forms of violence, acknowledging that it is the most brutal expression of discrimination. In Argentina and the Latin American region violence against women is increasingly perceived as a violation of human rights. This article describes the context in which the massive demonstrations against gender violence have taken place since June 2015. Building on the information on intimate partner violence against women obtained from a survey in the city of Buenos Aires, the author suggests that all forms of violence against women should be addressed from an integral perspective. |
