Sumario:The aim of the study was to determine the influence of pharmaceutical policies on the prescription of oncological drugs in two spaces of Rosario?s health system during January-June 2012. Descriptive observational pharmacoepidemiological study in adult patients with diagnosis of tumors and in treatment with oncological, focused on the circuit of use of these drugs applying two approaches, qualitative and quantitative.\nComplex circuits were observed with multiple actors, where different pharmaceutical policies implemented influenced the prescription and in stages prior to it. Written documents of the National Pharmaceutical Policy and of the National Cancer Program that frame the problem are not available. Different local strategies were created to guarantee accessibility and effectiveness of oncological treatments: alternative channels of acquisition or financing, use of international Clinical Practice Guidelines as reference and prescriptive off-label behaviors not recognized by the actors themselves. The lack of use of local protocols and the Pharmacovigilance System could have been due to lack of dissemination or incorrect implementation of these tools.\nThe results are expected to provide health managers with data to optimize economic management and clinical practice by strengthening the care process of cancer patients.
