Sumario:The right of access to public information is a key element in the republican\nsystem of government. This work deals with the features and treatment given to this right in comparative law and in regional systems of human rights protection. Then, the author analyzes how this right has been received within the\nArgentine legal framework and judicial decisions, highlighting the existence of\ncertain legal loopholes which, in many cases, have not been correctly solved by judges. Finally, after this comprehensive analysis, the author proposes the existence of adequate regulations and highlights the need of having one single homogeneous\nlegal framework covering this right in every single aspect, in compliance\nwith international and constitutional obligations
