Sumario:Juan Carlos Onetti'’s texts -–both the novels as the stories of the Uruguayan author- overflow of theatricality as they playfully exhibit the artifice, the creation process, the fictionalization of his work. Onetti makes visible the mise en scene of his writing, which is treated -–as a wink to the readers- by his prominent figures in their speech. Hereby, he exposes how he constructs his statements, puts in evidence the mechanism or writing procedure, tells it, narrates it; fictionalizes on the same one.
