Sumario:The present investigation aims to trace and analyze the Eurocentric and Orientalist conceptions or representations about ancient societies appearing in Ancient History textbooks used in secondary schools in Argentina in the period 1890-1950. From the analysis of these sources, an inquiry is performed regarding the appropriation of Western/European cultural values, which took place in Argentina during the 19th and 20th centuries and seemed to have utilized the discourse in these textbooks as propagation means.
