Sumario:This article opposes two theoretical frameworks applied to drama studies: the postdramatic perspective and the method known as dramatology, developed by Spanish researcher José Luis García Barrientos and based on the Aristotelian concept of mode of representation. Focused on the work of Spanish-Argentinean author and stage director Rodrigo García, the analysis aims to determine to what extent the type of theatre practised by him eschews the categories of traditional mimesis. To do so, it undertakes a systematic survey of seven essential points: text, dialogues, dramatic fiction, time, space, character and audience.
