Sumario:This work is based on the notion of paratext proposed by Gérard Genette for literary works and explores its feasibility in relation to another artistic language; in this case, dance. We will focus on the analysis of the ways in which the paratext proposes a particular spectatorial activity for a piece of contemporary dance. From this perspective, it is necessary to take into account the ways in which the reception of a choreography may be influenced by the paratextual system, considered as one of the aspects that regulate the circulation of artworks.
