description The end of World War II and the economic and social reorganization of the countries most actively involved in the conflicts had profound repercussions on Brazilian politics. As countries attempted to re-establish their investments after the war, Brazil was also experienced changes with the end of the Estado Novo (1937-1945) and the recent elections for both the president and other political offices in the states. During the dictatorship, government propaganda was based on the structuring of state organs and on the legislation protecting the cultural productions developed by the State. If in the 1930s and 1940s, culture was already understood as a powerful instrument of political propaganda in Brazil and in other countries, in the following decade, film companies and broadcasters were created by politicians or had them as their potential clients. For the countries that were restructuring, the movies were used as an announcement of the economic and social rehabilitation of these nations. The culture has also become more commercialized and was approached the economic sphere based on social behavior and the dissemination of ideas and discourses, for example the expansion of industry and the growing cities as progress indicators. Taken as potential documents for the analysis of the cultural and social dimensions of the past, the newsreels (cinejornais, cinegiornali, actualitè or noticieros) are important research objects for understanding discourses and actions related to education. These films had duration about six-fifteen minutes, exhibited in sessions before the feature film and were the mayor film production in Brazil.
