Sumario:The aim of this paper is to provide new materials for an account of Archibald H. Sayce’s academic career. In this instance, we specifically study his connection with Ugaritic studies. In order to do this we analyse both his publications on this subject and an unpublished letter from Arthur E. Cowley concerning the decipherment of the Ugaritic script by Hans Bauer.
