Sumario:Unlike most studies about Gramsci and Latin America, that focus on the reception, assimilation, and development of gramscian ideas, this piece deal with ther atual perception that the Italian thinker had about Latin America. In these terms it consider what he thought about the “Balkanization” of the sub continent, about its own “Kulturkampf”, the popular-military insurrections of the 1930s, its culture, native americans, and his very brief mention of Argentina.
