| Sumario: | This article discusses the invisibility but inherently political character of children and young adolescents' participation in public sphere in general and in school especially. We propose that their invisibility owes to their juridical dependent status, together with conceptual limitations relative to the academic field of “politics”, under the assumptions that this one needs from the equality of the subjects in law terms. At same time, areas and forms that canalize the participation of new generations in schools nourish of a “childish” conception, which avoids the conflict and their collective resolution. The experiences and debates around the common good are marginal in the school life and restrict the potential of the institution while specific institution for exercising the citizenship in the present, and the development of the confidence in the “future's citizen”. |
