| Sumario: | The article explores the relationship between gender and mobility through the analysis of the experiences of daily mobility of citizens of six residential types from the southern corridor of the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires (Argentina). The aim is to characterize and analyze the interdependencies for mobility -within families and with other social actors-, explain the logic of articulation of these interdependencies and the differences and asymmetries that might form. The experiences of daily mobility in the metropolis were obtained by interviews, analyzed by category and studied through the writing of stories and circuits. These procedures allowed us to identify regularities and singularities of asymmetric gender relations. The mobilities approach gave us a better understanding of the gender cleavage as an structuring inequalities. In addition, the intersections with the life-course and working positions were relevant to discuss some points of the ways of reconciling work, family life and gender. |
