The theoretical and practical context of the text production is specially analyzed as an instance of the librarian research. Among the different points of this matter, the following are mentioned: Librarian identity from the perspective of the different areas in the Social Sciences conceived as the otherness, the importance of transcending the methods and subjects of study that characterize the field, the creative power of the representation of the writing as a construction of an own librarian story, the urgency to develop innovative discourses that contribute to a new network between Librarianship and Information Science and other sciences, etcetera. The conclusion of the editorial is that our discipline should conceive the challenge of reviewing the traditional themes and the likelihood criteria from other perspectives still not addressed. En este editorial se formulan una serie de reflexiones sobre varios elementos relacionados con la escritura y la Bibliotecología/Ciencia de la Información. Se analiza, especialmente, el contexto teórico-práctico de dicha producción textual como una instancia de la investigación bibliotecológica. Entre los diversos puntos en los cuales se manifiesta esta problemática, se mencionan los siguientes: el tema de la identidad bibliotecaria observada desde la otredad de distintos territorios de las Ciencias Sociales, la importancia de trascender los métodos y objetos de estudio que caracterizan al campo, la amplitud creadora de la representación de la escritura como la construcción de un propio relato bibliotecario, la urgencia de desarrollar discursos novedosos que coadyuven a un nuevo entramado de la Bibliotecología con otras ciencias, entre otros motivos.
