Their first results were recently presented, and they provide, beyond some dark points regarding the execution of the operative, valuable elements of judgment for an updated knowledge of the main structural variables of Argentine agrarian production. Based on this material, the article critically presents a first image of the situation of the sector at the country level and a more detailed analysis of the Pampas region, paying special attention to the aspects related to the nuclei of the agrarian question, being able to verify the continuity of the advancement of the process of economic concentration, based on the elimination of numerous small and medium-sized farms and the growth of larger ones. Likewise, based on the partial data available, a first approximation is made to the labor force (salaried and family), creator of the essential of the value generated in the sector, the land tenure regime, the contracting of agricultural services, the pluriactivity, the stock of machinery and the agricultural and livestock production. Luego del transcurso de dieciséis años se realizó un nuevo Censo Nacional Agropecuario en 2018, del cual recientemente se difundieron sus primeros resultados, los cuales aportan, más allá del señalamiento de algunos puntos oscuros en cuanto a la ejecución del registro, elementos de juicio valiosos para un conocimiento actualizado de las principales variables estructurales del agro argentino. Sobre esta base, el artículo presenta críticamente una primera imagen de la situación del sector a nivel del país y un análisis más detallado de la región pampeana, prestando especial atención los aspectos ligados con los núcleos de la cuestión agraria, pudiéndose comprobar la continuidad del avance del proceso de concentración económica, sustentado en la eliminación de numerosas pequeñas y medianas explotaciones y el crecimiento de las de mayores dimensiones.
