However, the Social Sciences have not dealt consistently with these sounds. Making inroads into Sociology and Geography, this text defends the need to pay more attention to the urban soundscapes, in order to detect with more rigor their social-political trajectories and configurations. El análisis de los aspectos sensibles de la vida pública o, en otras palabras, el ritmanálisis de Henri Lefebvre, tiene un enorme potencial heurístico para el estudio de las ciudades y sus imágenes. Este texto sostiene que las imágenes de la ciudad también están hechas de paisajes sonoros; y que los sonidos urbanos pueden revelar no sólo la evolución urbana, sino también el modo de organización actual de los entornos sociales de las ciudades. Sin embargo, las Ciencias Sociales se han relacionado de manera irregular con esas sonoridades.
