The emphasis of this resource in the late medieval period, particularly in the fourteenth Century is a peculiar phenomenon that requires to investigate its causes and its significance, in addition to finding specific profiles of achievement. Me enfocaré aquí en un procedimiento que se propaga y se potencia en diversas formas del discurso historiográfico del siglo XIV: el recurso a materia legendaria para la configuración narrativa del acontecimiento histórico; procedimiento que permitirá ilustrar adecuadamente el juego interdiscursivo y el encuentro de la historia y la ficción en el interior de la crónica.
