Sumario:Research on industrial districts opened a new field of possibilities for economic thought by introducing territoriality in relation to the concentration of small and medium-sized industrial enterprises. However, its theoretical and operational definition remained a problem. This work is located within the framework of this problem and aims to contribute to the search for heuristic models of localized industrial systems, which allow explicitly addressing the formation of qualitatively differentiated systems, inserted in broader social relations that stratify the social space in different scales with their centralities and peripheries. The work proposes to do this by emphasizing the modes of articulation between territoriality and capitalist relations of production, specifying an operational model adapted and applied to the sources of geographic information available for the manufacturing industry of the Province of Santa Fe, Argentina.
