Sumario:The following work presents a possible metatheatrical reading of Cecilia Meijide´s play Cactus Orquidea based on the concept of fiction metalepsis coined by Gérard Genette. With the description and analysis of the expressive systems deployed in the play which establish relations of contradiction and redundancy, this study intends to describe the behavior of a structure which enables different fictional levels on stage, creating tensions within the specific codes and canonical conventions of western representation, as well as elaborating on the concept of the theatrical device itself.  The overall conclusion indicates that the metaleptic procedure in the construction of the performance text exposes the artificial character of the representation and constitutes a ludic approach of the reality-fiction binomial, convening the audience through complicity and offering the entrance door to a world where everything is possible: the theatre world.
