| Sumario: | This research examines the forms of institutional violence exerted by police forces against trans individuals in the province of Neuquén between 2012 and 2020. The study draws on in-depth interviews with members of the trans community and police officers, as well as a documentary analysis of legal frameworks, statistical data, and institutional training programs. Findings reveal a fragmented police training on gender and diversity issues, shaped by broader discriminatory cultural patterns that go beyond institutional boundaries. The absence of disaggregated data and the prevalence of underreporting contribute to a structure of invisibility that hinders effective state intervention and exposes the gap between official discourses and the lived experiences of trans people. |
