| Sumario: | The research archives of Social Sciences and Humanities contribute to the construction of identity and to the cultural heritage of the peoples who produce them. In recent decades, these archives have faced the challenge of integrating archival intervention methods with the need to make these resources available in digital format and to provide open access through the Web. The DILA Archive (Area of Linguistics and Anthropology, IMHICIHU-CONICET, Argentina) houses documentary and historical collections of native and migration languages, archaeological and ethnographic research on South American peoples, and ethnobotanical studies, among others. This paper examines the potential applications of these archives, which are publicly available on digital platforms, as sources for scientific research. In particular, it reflects on the challenges indigenous communities face in accessing the documentary resources preserved by the DILA Archive.
