Sumario:From recognizing a vacancy in studies interested in working, from the social history of Geography, together with the development of two university degrees in Geography in Argentina, this article seeks to investigate an unprecedented experience of intellectual collaboration and circulation of ideas, materials and people that involved geographers and geographers from the Geography careers of the University of Buenos Aires and the National University of Cuyo. In fact, it is the Social History of Geography Program and the Mendoza Research Unit, located in the Geography Institute of the University of Buenos Aires. Through archival work and the collection of testimonies of some of the intellectuals involved, interested approach, will seek to answer questions about How this program originated?, What perspectives did you hold?, Who integrated it?, Why and in what way did you link with geographers of the UNCuyo? After knowing the unique trajectories that followed the careers of Geography of the UBA and UNCuyo after the democratic restitution of 1983, the particularities of the Social History of Geography program were investigated for, subsequently, focus the analysis on the experience of the Mendoza Research Unit. Finally, the paper closes with some reflections that, on the one hand, seek to open lines of inquiry about the foundational importance of this program for the HSG in Argentina and, on the other, to point out at a theoretical level the relevance of networks and the circulation of ideas.
