| Sumario: | This article analyzes the distance between the Hispanic norm and its practice within the family in the jujuy puna region between 1770 and 1870. The population studied was mainly indigenous, with different cultural patterns from those of the authorities. This in turn formed a cultural frontier betwwn current Argentina and Bolivia. Moreover we will analyze the transition between the colonial situation and the Independent period in a contex with years of war, epidemics and drought. In addition to a precarious situation, the provincial state imposed a heavy tax burden on the region's main production: livestock. |
