Sumario:The article seeks to analyze the effect that the application of the National Education Law had on the evolution of secondary school for youths and adults in Argentina. Although in the specialized bibliography on the subject it is recognized that the enactment of this law has had a positive impact on the development of the modality, the specific effect it has had on its material evolution is not clear. In order to contribute to this question, from a quantitative methodology a tour of the main indicators of the middle level for youths and adults is carried out through the data provided by the National Ministry of Education between the years 1998 and 2018. The central conclusion reached is that the approval of said law boosted a growth of secondary education for this segment of the population that was already developing throughout the country, especially by creating a framework in which new programs of terminality as FinEs that reached a great extension on a national scale.
