Sumario:In May 2019, a dispute began between two Cordovan localities over the corporal remains (relics) of priest Brochero (1840-1914), declared a saint in October 2016. The municipality of Villa Santa Rosa, his birthplace, approved a resolution requesting the transfer there of his relics, located in Villa Cura Brochero. In this work we will see that as "powerful objects" the relics of the saints have been throughout history a motive of interest of the communities to possess them. Likewise, after mentioning the symbolic and affective importance that the relics have within the Brocherian movement, we will give an account of this complaint by recovering different voices. We conclude by noting that this conflict highlights the importance that relics have in terms of the symbolic legitimacy that they provide, the communal ties that they articulate, and the economic relevance they have for the communities that possess them.
