| Sumario: | The objective of this work is to explore the categories of site of memory and landscape of memory based on the case of the Memory Park – Monument to the Victims of State Terrorism (Parque de la Memoria – Monumento a las Víctimas del Terrorismo de Estado). To do this we will take some definitions of site of memory and landscape and then we will put them in relation to the most important characteristics and elements of the Memory Park, among which we can find the Monument with the names of the victims of State terrorism, a poly-sculptural group and the Río de la Plata, on whose banks the Park is located. Based on these elements and the analysis of the previously presented definitions, we will analyze how the Park can be thought of as a site of memory and as a landscape of memory, to the extent that it constitutes meanings and presents elements associated with construction of a social and collective memory of the victims of State terrorism. |
