Sumario:A study is presented on the library culture of socialism in Argentina (1910-1920). Itanalyses: (a) the messages transmitted from La Vanguardia about libraries in general;(b) the articles that the same newspaper published about the Biblioteca Obrera inparticular. It is shown that the intensity and constancy of the theme created a criticallibrary rhetoric, within which the Biblioteca Obrera exemplified good practices andthe horizon to be followed. It is concluded that this preaching transmitted an idea ofa library that brought together the militants of reading under the same perspectiveand encouraged them to form new and better experiences.
