We work with the category ofdevelopment, taking into account its link with heritage. And finally, we analyse the tensionand demands arising from the uses of heritage and territory as an economic resourse for thedevelopment in the region.The doctoral investigation that sustains this article was carried out from a perspective socioanthropological and we used different methodological strategies for the collection, constructionand analysis of information from both primary and secondary sources. Este artículo se propone indagar en los conflictos que surgen a raíz de la articulación en-tre patrimonio, turismo y desarrollo en la Quebrada de Humahuaca (Jujuy, Argentina) a partir de su inscripción como patrimonio mundial por la Organización de Naciones Uni-das para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO) en el año 2003, bajo la categoría de paisaje cultural. Se analizan brevemente los discursos que justificaron la inscripción y el proceso de valo-rización patrimonial y turística. Luego se realiza un breve recorrido conceptual por la ca-tegoría de desarrollo, teniendo en cuenta su vinculación con el patrimonio. Y, por último, se abordan las tensiones y demandas que emergen a partir de los usos del patrimonio y el territorio como un recurso económico para el desarrollo de la región.
