Sumario:Within the framework of the great transformations that have taken place in the agricultural sector in recent decades, this paper analyses the impacts that the expansion of the agribusiness model has had on family agriculture in Argentina and Uruguay. The aim is to describe the particularities and generalities that this phenomenon has had in the region analysed, based on a comparative study emphasizing public policies towards the sector, taking the cases of Argentina and Uruguay as units of analysis. In the study used Statistical sources of official national agencies, intermediate entities and sectoral studies. As variables of analysis were taken: the economic concentration, the composition of the agrarian structure, public intervention.
