This initial exploration addresses the way in which the terms ICTs-security-insecurity are linked, taking as reference two fields of practice. On the one hand, that of normative production. What kind of rules regulate the uses of ICTs associated with the government of (in) security? How does this normative production relate to the way in which the field of government of (in) security is organized or structured?On the other hand, we approach the field of public debates. In this first stage of work we explored the way in which the use of video surveillance technologies is problematized in the graphic media. How are video surveillance socially justified? What frames of senses associate security and video surveillance?This work explains the main theoretical coordinates of our analysis, describes the methodology used and presents the main advances obtained respecting these questions. Finally, there are some projections and lines of work that we intend to follow to the future. En este artículo presentamos los avances de una investigación exploratoria sobre el empleo de nuevas tecnologías de la información y comunicación en el campo del gobierno de la (in)seguridad.Esta exploración inicial aborda el modo en que se construye la relación TICs-seguridad-inseguridad, tomando como referencia dos campos de prácticas. Por un lado, el de la producción normativa. ¿Qué tipo de normas regulan los usos de TICs asociados al gobierno de la (in)seguridad? ¿Cómo se relaciona esta producción normativa con el modo en que se organiza o estructura el campo del gobierno de la (in)seguridad?Por otro lado, abordamos el campo de los debates públicos. En esta primera etapa de trabajo sondeamos el modo en que se problematiza en los medios gráficos de comunicación el uso de tecnologías de videovigilancia. ¿Cómo se justifican socialmente las prácticas de videovigilancia? ¿Qué tramas de sentidos asocian seguridad y videovigilancia?Este trabajo explicita las principales coordenadas teóricas de nuestro análisis, describe la metodología empleada y presenta los principales avances obtenidos respectos de estas preguntas. Finalmente, se enuncian algunas proyecciones y líneas de trabajo que nos proponemos seguir a fututo.
