| Sumario: | Since the decade of the 90, numerous initiatives to support agricultural and rural development emerged in Argentina, especially in the province called «Extra–pampeanas». These initiatives, largely led by the national government, were organized through their agencies and international financing programs, as well as by other provincial and local initiatives. They were passing through the years of sectoral approaches to territorial approaches. A salient fact is that these initiatives were always disjointed, without coordination mechanisms among them, so they could not generate the impacts that were planned and that the rural communities required. The article analyses the causes of this disarticulation and fragmentation of rural development initiatives in Argentina from the experience of those in charge of those programs of development, with particular attention to the south of the province of Santiago del Estero. |
