| Sumario: | The production of the urban space in the city of Córdoba is related to territorial tensions and dynamics motorized by different social agents who have different interests and develop action strategies which often contradict each other. The objective of this article is to analyze the characteristics assumed by the urban expansion of the city of Córdoba between 2001 and 2015, the factors that influence this process, the social agents that intervene and the territorial tensions involved. To analyze the expansion of the urban space we use LANDSAT images from the years 2001, 2008 and 2015. These images have been selected for their coincidence with the 2001 (national) and 2008 (provincial) census data. For the year 2015 we made an extrapolation based on data from the 2010 national census. The selected images are classified in order to obtain urban and non–urban coverage data, and thus quantify the change in the coverage defined. This methodology is complemented with the accomplishment of field work and interviews with key informants. |
