| Sumario: | Our work pretends to explain the persistence of unemployment in Entre Ríos, from 1928 to 1946. Different studies have focused on unemployment as a phenomenon related to 1930’s crisis; on the other hand, we maintain that it was due to the continuity of the process of investment in equipment that extended during the chosen period. This process generated a permanent workers’ dismissal, producing as a result workers overpopulation that looked for jobs, mostly, outside the province. Hence, this work brings to the comprehension of the working class transformation, the effects of mechanization and workers exodus prior to peronism. |
