| Sumario: | The article propose to analyse both agreements and disputes between Rosario’s cultural institutions and artists, in the mid- twenties. In 1926, because of Autumn Salon’s cancelation, Nexus group organized, with the support of different culture sectors, the First Salon of Artists from Rosario. The initiative was repeated the following year when, despite resuming the series of Autumn Salons, the brand-new group opened its second and last show.Nevertheless, words and pictures highlighted existing tensions within the artistic field. Public authorities, writers, art critics and the same artists debated about sate policies on culture matters and the orientation that visual production should follow. In that sense, the works of artists who lived in Rosario that were shown in public put in evidence the aesthetic options they chose and in each case, its adjustment to the models promoted by the institutions or its disruptive character. The aim of this paper is to contrast the diverse positions that Nexus group canalized during its brief, but intense existence. |
