| Sumario: | This work conducted a case study analyzing and interpreting the piece «Tereré on the Rocks», composed by Argentine guitarist Ernesto Snajer and featured on his album De Dos Argentinos (2016). This article investigates the circumstances and the compositional, stylistic, musical, and intertextual elements that enable an exploration of the artistic dialogue between jazz and specific folkloric expressions from the Litoral region, such as chamamé. Through the transcription and musical notation of the piece, the study aims to identify stylistic features characteristic of each genre. Additionally, it explores the ways in which these genres intersect and merge, framing this convergence as a condition for understanding the artistic inquiry articulated in «Tereré on the Rocks». The analysis includes the examination of form, harmony, melody, improvisation, and selected extra musical factors, such as album cover design, the titles and its connotations, and the musicians ‘speeches in the media. |
