Sumario:Although the reconstruction of the plot of Aeschylus’ tragedy Ξάντριαι (The WoolCarders) is a challenging task, taking fr. 169R as a starting point, one couldventure it covers Dionysian themes, which could be compared to some passagesfrom Euripides’ work, specifically The Bacchae, and also Heracles’ work, inconnection with his description of the physical disruption associated withmadness, personified as Λύσσα. The purpose of this paper/article is to delvedeeper into the study of such relationships as way of piece together the emotionaldimension of Aeschylus’ verses within this work which has been tragically lost.
