| Sumario: | The period of the National Truth Commission (CNV) in Brazil (2012–2014) was an unprecedented moment for gathering testimonies from former agents of repression. The commission's work coincided with investigations by the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) and media coverage. The three interviewees were key figures in this historical phenomenon. Sergio Gardenghi Suiama, a member of the MPF's Transitional Justice Working Group, recounts how he became involved with the topic of political repression, the beginnings of the JT working group, and his experience conducting hearings with perpetrators and investigating their crimes. Juliana Dal Piva and Chico Otávio are journalists and partnered in the investigation of repression and its agents. Both share their professional trajectories and the experience they had interacting with perpetrators, conducting interviews, cross-referencing data, and the ethical dilemmas associated with gathering such testimonies. |
