Sumario:In this work, I explore the reflections of social workers involved in the study and approach of problems of children and their families in the 1960s in the city of Santa Fe. Based on the theses for obtaining a degree in Social Service, I trace the implication between the configuration of occupational fields of professional intervention and the incidence of these practices in the processes of state bureaucratization. The proposed analysis is a tributary of the research project "The professionalization of Social Work in Santa Fe, from its institutional origins in the 1940s to the 1970s" based in Bachelor of Social Work at the National University of Litoral. Thus, I go through the conceptualizations on child abandonment whose reflections weave a complex web between rationalities, emotions and intervention proposals. In them, time matrices are recorded on the problems addressed, the evocation of techno-scientific methods and the expectations on the expected results. On the other hand, the difficulties in government areas and the proposals to improve them also allow us to understand some organizational aspects of bureaucracies in the province, taking into account work processes, prioritizations and available resources.
