However, the first stage of his production, consisting of three novels —El camino de los hiperbóreos (1968), Aventura de los miticistas (1971) and Personas en pose de combate (1975)— remains a relatively unexplored period for the majority of researchers. Presently, the renewed interest in national studies on the avant‒garde has positioned Libertella as one of the prominent figures and founders of a current imaginary within that particular mode of writing. Therefore, in the following work, we will examine the avant-garde aspects in his initial publications, his early integration into the field of Argentine literature, his bellicose and provocative attitude towards dominant institutions and legitimizing agents, and his initial shift towards a personal theory of a new form of writing outlined by him and within which he is situated. La crítica en torno al escritor bahiense Héctor Libertella ha proliferado en los últimos años. Sin embargo, la primera etapa de su producción compuesta por tres novelas —El camino de los hiperbóreos (1968), Aventura de los miticistas (1971) y Personas en pose de combate (1975)— continúa siendo un momento poco explorado por el grueso de los investigadores. Actualmente, el renovado interés por los estudios nacionales acerca de la vanguardia ha señalado a Libertella como uno de los grandes exponentes y fundadores de cierto imaginario actual de ese modo particular de escritura. Es por eso que, en el siguiente trabajo, estudiaremos los aspectos vanguardistas en sus primeras publicaciones, su inserción temprana al ámbito de las letras argentinas, su actitud belicosa y provocativa frente a las instituciones dominantes y agentes legitimadores y su viraje inicial hacia una teoría personal de una nueva escritura trazada por él y dentro de la cual se inscribe.
