| Sumario: | Agrarian political economy is an intellectual current used as a framework for agrarian and rural studies carried out from a Marxist perspective. Based on a bibliographic review, this article presents the journey of agrarian political economy from its most remote antecedents to some of its main current concerns. In this sense, the article highlights that agrarian political economy has concentrated on studying the problems caused by the structural contradiction of capitalism in agriculture, overcoming the restricted readings that accuse the lack of modernization processes of the backwardness of agrarian production. |
