Sumario:The objective of this work was to evaluate the nutritional status, cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) and changes that occur in lifestyle in students entering the National University of the Litoral (UNL), in the period 2006-2019. A descriptive study was carried out on the prevalence of nutritional status and CVRF during the period 2006-2019, as well as a descriptive - cross-sectional - study of the lifestyle of the 2019 entrants. The calculated sample size was different for each year, having taking into account the total population. In the analysis of nutritional status, the most prevalent condition was “normal weight.” A progressive increase in the prevalence of CVRF was observed. Regarding the lifestyle of the entrants, it was observed that more than half abandoned or performed less physical activity when they entered university, the majority did not smoke, however they had excessive alcohol consumption, accompanied by few hours dedicated to sleep. Among the eating habits, it was evident that the students had a low daily consumption of fruits, vegetables, dairy products, cereals and whole grain products, fish and a high consumption of foods with a high content of sugars, sodium, trans fats and saturated fats.
