Sumario:From the practice of tourism, the rural environment began to be considered as an integrated and functional space. In this sense, rural tourism has become a transformative activity for many localities in the Argentine Republic; particularly, in the south of the province of Santa Fe. As part of territorial development strategies that have increased in recent decades, local governments began to propose a varied offer of resources and attractions in rural spaces –such as alternative tourism–, looking for unexploited destinations and betting on the development of new structures. This article seeks to analyze the potential of a portion of the Santa Fe rural space as part of the new tourism development strategies that attempt to enhance the leisure-nature relationship through the generation of various proposals, which include the participation of the local population in the management and revaluation of cultural and natural heritage in line with economic activities.
