Sumario:In the present research article, the impact of central government leadership and management on the Human Development Bonus is studied. The Human Development Bonus is the conditional cash transfer program of the Republic of Ecuador, which began operations in 2003. Firstly, the basic and conceptual elements of leadership and theoretical aspects within the framework of management are analyzed. The research was conducted using the bibliographic research method to obtain information relevant to the topic and to search for related descriptive statistics. This allowed for quantitative analysis of the effects of government leaders' decisions on the success of the Human Development Bonus. The results indicate that these leaders face significant challenges in achieving success with the mentioned program, due to decision-making within the program being tainted by political and electoral factors.
