| Sumario: | Qualitative research offers new tools to analyze large amounts of ethnographic or documental information. This article aims to discuss the role of computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software in ethnomusicological inquiry, as a complement in the study of musical practices. This paper is organized in two parts. In the first one I discuses about the theoretical framework of qualitative data analysis methods. Subsequently, I will report two research experiences in which this method has been used. Finally, I will reflect on the scope and projections of using CAQDAS software as a complementary mechanism to triangulate musical analysis with other types of qualitative information (ethnographic or documentary). |
