Sumario:This article proposes a reading route that presents the topos "cave" as a textual and symbolic construction, rooted in various religious, mystical and literary sources. The cave in these sources is configured as an initiatory space, as a threshold and as a passage that produces an epistemic transformation in those who walk through it. In this regard, the purpose of this work will be to investigate in what ways the cave topos are constructed in various textual sources. This will be carried out from a broader perspective that will seek to understand the notions of space- holiness- sacred space- texts in antiquity, in particular the antiquity of the Israel’s people. This will be performed from a textual tour will be accomplished through various canonical biblical sources, through apocryphal biblical texts, such as the manuscripts of Janój (Enoch), through writings that belong to the oral rabbinic tradition (Talmud, Midrash and Agadah), among others. The hidden, the revealed, the sacred, the profane, light, darkness, truth, lies, evil and justice, transmission and culture are some of the categories that will be addressed in this text.
