How to understand these two terms? In this paper I propose to explain these concepts from the theory of enunciation, more precisely using as a conceptual framework the theory of representation of Louis Marin. I do not seek to trace a possible influence of Heidegger on Marin, but rather to apply the notions of transitivity and reflexivity (or transparency and opacity) to elucidate the pairing of world and earth concepts in “The Origin of the Work of Art”.
