Sumario:The past is an important dimension of the temporality of political discourse. Time of the origin, of the example, of the genealogy, the past is an important element in the way in which the political actor constructs his presentation of himself or ethos. This article starts from the general framework of Discourse Analysis and is devoted to the study of the linguistic construction of the past in two discourses of assumption by Mauricio Macri. We are interested in observing, punctually, the emergence of intervals of the past and their integration into a system of evaluation and affiliation with the person who is the speaker. Our hypothesis is that Macri’s discourse constructs a past that is subsidiary to a general ethos of novelty in the political field.
