| Sumario: | The collective occupations of land and housing constitute one of the main forms of urban social struggle deployed by the working class of Latin America to access the city, a phenomenon that from the Social Sciences has been studied as part of the settler movements, the popular urban movements and urban socioterritorial movements. This article aims to study collective occupations as part of a strategy of urban social struggle for access to habitat, investigating the way in which these experiences put the city in dispute. In this way, questions are raised related to what were the spatialities and territorialities constructed by the experiences of urban social struggle with collective occupation of lands and/or homes and, associatedly, what were the modes of resistance and the political meanings that these struggles assumed. in relation to the city project. Regarding the methodology, it is based on a case study on the city of Tandil (province of Buenos Aires, Argentina), between 2001 and 2021. The development of the methodological strategy, oriented towards socio-historical and territorial understanding, articulated complementary research techniques and sources, such as documentary analysis, content analysis, interviews with key informants and oral history. The main results are related to the visibility of the collective occupation experiences developed in the city of Tandil during the period studied, as well as the historical and territorial reconstruction of urban social struggles during the 21st century. Likewise, the contributions contribute to the study of access strategies to the urban habitat, deepening the knowledge of the repertoires of action, the protagonist collective subjects, their objectives and political orientations. |
